Dear Anglers/Friends,

We proudly present you the 2007 Saint Martin International Fishing Tournament, and the 10th anniversary of this wonderful competition. Following the huge success of the 2006 tournament, this year promises to be even bigger and better with more anglers from across the Caribbean. Your support and involvement over the years has made our tournament one of the most exciting events in the Caribbean and last year was exceptional with 30 international boats competing!

We are blessed with the Marlin Boulevard, which in 2006 eschewed some outstanding performances from our competing teams, 76 billfish releases over four days of intense and fun competition.

The tournament is organized with simple and straightforward rules and is held in June to make the most of the peak season on the Marlin Boulevard. Veteran St Martin competitors will testify that the quality of our fishing zone is second to none. Not only was the fishing fantastic but we on the Friendly Island also know how to have serious fun, and the comradeship between the teams made for some great social events involving the entire island. The after-fishing parties and the day-off at Grand Case offered a chance for our anglers and the island’s population to relax and party and take advantage of the unique activities, shopping, fine dining and nightlife St Martin has to offer. From its humble beginnings, the Saint Martin International Fishing Tournament has grown to become an integral part of the island’s annual calendar, a great outlet for the spirit of fun and festivity that St Martin exudes.

We look forward once again to welcoming the angling talents from around the world to take part in some serious Deep Sea Action and On-Land fun with an impressive 2007 prize package ! In the name of the association, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors, members, and visiting anglers for the continued support that has ensured the success of this fantastic event! Déjà 10 ans…

Je me rappelle encore cette soirée d’Août où, autour d’une table, François, Roger, Steve, Max, Gérald et quelques autres copains ont mis au programme la 1ère édition du St Martin Billfish Tournament. Organisé par l’Association Marlin Bleu, ce tournoi voulait retrouver la simplicité et la convivialité pour lesquelles St Martin était depuis longtemps reconnu. Ce fut un succès…
Toujours dans le même esprit, nous voici dans la 10ème édition de ce merveilleux tournoi où l’on retrouvera encore, je l’espère, à travers d’inoubliables moments de pêche, le partage avec la population et la camaraderie entre équipage.
L’année dernière, 29 équipages étaient venus se croiser au large du « Marlin Boulevard », et plus de 75 prises de marlins avaient été enregistrées.
Cette année encore, l’équipe du « Marlin Bleu » vous invite à venir, nombreux, célébrer le 10ème anniversaire du St Martin Billfish Tournament. Cette nouvelle édition, grâce à nos fidèles partenaires, promet plein de prises et de surprises, et ce, dans une ambiance des plus chaleureuse. A bientôt sur la Marina « Fort Louis »
